National Make-A-Will Month gives estate planning practitioners an opportunity to communicate with clients, prospects, referral sources, and the next generation of clients’ families. The label ‘National Make-A-Will Month’ is simple and accessible. That is its marketing strength. But the professional message should be broader: clients do not merely need wills, they need coordinated and comprehensive estate plans. While this is a particular opportunity to market and educate clients with less wealth, it is a great opportunity to use the media attention to wills to build estate planning awareness among even the wealthiest clients.
